Precision Structure Function Measurements from Ccfr/nutev

New results from the CCFR Collaboration on the structure functions F2 and xF3 are presented. Neutrino scattering structure function measurements o er a unique tool to probe the strong interactions. The parity-violating structure function xF3(x;Q ) can only be measured in deep inelastic neutrino scattering. Precise measurements of the structure function F2(x;Q ) can also be obtained. The predicted Q evolution of these structure functions can be used to test perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics as well as to measure the strong coupling constant, s , and the valence, sea, and gluon parton distributions.

We present the latest Next-to-Next-Leading order strong coupling constant, αs, extracted from Gross-Llewellyn-Smith sum rule. The value of αs from this measurement, at the mass of Z boson, is α s (M 2 Z) = 0.114 +0.009 −0.012. We discuss the previous strange sea quark measurement from the CCFR experiment and the prospects for improvements of the measurement in the NuTeV experiment.
